Well despite Kotaku's "several sources" which are unnamed, I'm not going to assume that it is dead yet. There will probably be a big reveal of some sort during TGS.
Plus the quote itself says "the game, as originally intended, is done for" which means maybe they just changed the basis of the game and a lot of things in it, meaning the original concept is dead but the game isn't.
we still dont know about that yet, though the article presumes that they would like versus 13 to just fade away and die quietly i wouldn't agree much about that. many ff fans are looking forward to this game and i believe it'll have an announcement soon. just like they said "patience" but i wonder for how long...
