SWORD ART ONLINE Anime Review, surviving Nerve Gear- [AnimeToxin]

In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies using a piece of technology called Nerve Gear.

One day, players discover they cannot log out, as the game creator is holding them captive unless they reach the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life. Their struggle for survival starts now. (Anime, Sword Art Online) 8.5/10

This Anime is definitely better than Accel World and Guilty Crown.

I'd agree with that, but that's a pretty low bar of comparison. The MMO aspect of it is still proving to be a gimmick, and they've yet to show any out of game consequences caused by the events. Come to think of it, there's barely actually been any story...

Kirito is only a step up from GC and AWs' protagonists in that he is utterly bland rather than insufferable and all the characters are awfully shallow.

Goodness knows how this has rocketed to such a high rank on myanimelist...

My first anime ever... I can't that others. I've tried an episode here or there of a few of them and they are mostly annoying to me.

For some reason this story and Kiriko as a character as really stuck with me. I love this show , regardless of what kind of show it is.

It seems like they really are trying to give it some substance and to really develop their own world.

This anime is interesting & fun what I cant fathom is how they portrait Asuna a little girl as MMORPG Goddess, the fact that is going party with Kirito & fight along with him mobs at 78 floor with the same effectiveness it's a little.. u know what I mean do u know many young pretty girl who r that good on MMORPGs? I think the director must chill out a little & make it clear that she is inferior in comparison with Kirito they cant be equal strong.
