Top 7 ANIME not for the Faint of Heart

With the vast majority of transcending genres that Anime are based on these days, it would be logical enough to also delve into a few less talked about Genres that might be inappropriate to those with a weak heart.

These are the Top 7 ANIME that are absolutely not for the Faint of Heart. (Anime, Elfen Lied, End of Evangelion, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, MPD Psycho, Mushishi, Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne, School Days, Shiki)

Genocyber is the Most Gory and Sickening ANIME definitely not for the Faint of Heart.

I couldn't Swallow the very 1st Episode of ELFEN LIED.
Does it get good later or is it all bout mindless Violence???

It's pretty good right from the first episode. It's not all mindless violence, there's actually a decent story to it (though not without its plot holes). Apparently the manga is better though.

manga is always better but when you actually read it you realize that the cake is a lie.

Only time manga is better is when it depicts things in a more accurate way or because the anime gets a lots of censors otherwise 90% of the animes follow the manga religiously detail by detail.

Genocyber is pretty graphic. I heard another anime Apocalypse Zero/Kakugo no Susume is even worse.... Seems most these lists are more for modern anime. No love for the old school stuff( made in 70s, 80s, 90s)?

What about Blood C. The last episode was a filled with blood and carnage. Also Corpse Party: Missing Footage the first scene where some murderer was killing some kids almost made me look away.

Rahxephon has a really nice scene where the protagonist kills one his very few friends thinking that he was helping her. The death scene was just as brutal as a gory episode from Elfen Lied but much more emotional and really really sad.

Berserk has Griffith raping Caska in front of Guts. I mean, your best friend for life is raping your girlfriend in front of you!

Like already mentioned, Gantz is epic. Most people that didn't like it only watched like 1 or 2 episodes and then dropped it.

Gurren Lagann is literally the most epic thing that I have seen in my life and those that has watched it will understand why I say it. Gurren Lagann gives an entirely new meaning to the world epic.

and just to mention a few others: Saikano, the School Days ending, Code Geass, Rumbling Hearts, Madoka... And the obligatory End of Evangelion.

I don't watch that much anime but from what I have seen, I agree with Elfen Lied and Higurashi being on that list. I can still picture the blood, paranoia and nails.

It'd be interesting to see what other people thought were not for the faint of heart for manga series.
