English-language Japanese game site Andriasang is closing

Andriasang – the English-language Japanese game news site that is often the first to translate Japan's Famitsu industry magazine into English – will no longer be updating, its editor and writer Anoop Gantayat announced today on the site.

Gantayat said that he has taken on a new opportunity that will keep him busy, so he has decided to stop updating the site. Gantayat thanked readers for supporting the site throughout the years and said that its archives would remain. (Andriasang, Gaming)

That's too bad. Andriasang was such a great website.

I have nothing but the deepest admiration for Anoop. He's the type of news editor that everyone working in the media should be aggressively trying to hire. His absence could potentially set back Japanese gaming news by as much as a few days. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors; those are going to be some big shoes to fill.

Maybe it delays the news that long. It sets Japanese gaming news back by several decades. Andriasang really was THE best site for Japanese gaming news... by a very wide marigin.

Now we're left with, what, short snippets of news from magic-box and siliconera?
