On 2ch, Japan's largest bulletin, a thread popped up with the title, "Concrete Proof of One Piece's Plagiarism lulz". In this thread, an image showed seemed to detail how One Piece continues to knock off Disney and Tim Burton. Or does it?

How is that compromising at all? King Neptune and King Triton are both based on Neptune from mythology, so nothing there. The characters from Thriller Bark all follow a Halloween theme, just like Nightmare before christmas, the characters themselves aren't copies they just follow a similar style. As for Alvida, I had no idea that Disney has a copyright on fat women with make-up, what other similarities are there? Can't remember her having tentacles...As for Genie, the guy has a wide smile and a pointy nose, do you honestly consider that plagiarism? This is just a troll article, if you're going to accuse Oda of plagiarising a series he has put his blood and sweat into for 15 years then at least have some convincing evidence.
so of all the 100+ unique characters, 3 or 4 of them + one background , are similar what is your point?
one piece has way better character design than Disney overall characters. and no we don't want one piece to end sooner. if you don't like one piece to watch something else.
