Serial Experiments Lain Review [Capsule Computers]

Simon Wolfe of Capsule Computers writes:

"What happens when the barrier between the real world and the digital or Wired world begins to blur and disappear? Is it a good thing as people are free to truly live how they wish in either world or a bad thing for pretty much the same reason? The idea behind Serial Experiments Lain is that this line is blurring in ways people aren't expecting as the show starts out with characters receiving emails from a classmate. Only problem is that the classmate is dead." (Anime, Serial Experiments Lain) 8/10

Terrible series that uses way too many references to other superior works to carry itself.

Have to agree. I tried watching this show and almost fell asleep. I dunno what it was but the show was just plain boring.

And before anybody says anything, it wasn't the fact that it isn't a shonen or anything. I enjoy a pretty wide variety of anime.

Getting a message from a dead person? That would be cool?
