Toriko Collection 1 Review | Capsule Computers

Kane Bugeja writes:

As one of the most popular shonen manga of all time, the jump to anime was just a matter of time for Toriko. The popularity of the genre in both eastern and western markets is undeniable, but is Toriko a refreshing slice of action or is it following a stale formula? (Anime, Toriko) 8/10

Still can't believe Toriko was brought into English. I mean I can see the appeal of it, but the unique premise wears off very quickly and underneath the whole food aspect lies a pretty generic shonen series.

Yeah, people love generic shonen anime. That's why almost twenty years later people still won't stop praising DBZ.

I like the show you might say its generic but tell me how many generic shonen have smart and strong main characters.
