Is “Legend of Korra” the Next Big Thing in Anime?

“Legend of Korra” has been getting a lot of attention in some circles as the next big anime, but can it really live up to the hype? I would submit to you, dear reader, that in the first place, nothing produced by Nickelodeon can ever be considered anime. At least not at present, and let us now acknowledge the one jillion kajiliion pound gorilla in the room, and the reason why ”Legend of Korra” has any notoriety at all: A little thing called “Attack on Titan.”

I feel dumber for having read that. This guy creates an article on a hype that doesn't exist and then proceeds to compare it to a popular anime show and trash it in a pathetic manner.

If this guy was on the internet at all last year then he would have seen that there was quite the hype around the first season as well and that was not caused by Attack on Titan but rather the original Avatar series.

I don't believe for a second that people think of it as the next big thing in anime because the majority of people recognise that it isn't anime. It's sad that the internet gives people like him an outlet to spout his crap.

"Hype that doesn't exist" is the right term. I hadn't heard of this Korra vs Titan argument before this article, and I don't think I'll ever hear it again.

Agreed. Sadly though, being clickbait doesn't disqualify something from being posted here.

Its not Anime, deal with it.

If I have to qualify "Duck Dynasty" as a show then I'm counting LoK as an anime. Deal with it.

@Lord_Sloth

Honey Boo Boo is a show too. Deal with it.

Anime is Japanese animation. Doesn't matter if it resembles it or not. Referring to it as anime along with other similar shows and then actually considering it anime are two different things.
