Japanese police have arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly placing a container holding a toxic chemical at a Tokyo university last year.
Police arrested Hirofumi Watanabe from Osaka Prefecture on Sunday.
The police say Watanabe put the container in the gymnasium of Sophia University in October last year. They say the suspect also sent letters slandering the writer of a popular manga, "Kuroko no Basket," or "The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays". The writer is a graduate of Sophia University.
Investigators say Watanabe has told them that he was jealous of the successful writer and acted alone.
