The winner of Japanator's worst anime of 2013

Tim Sheehy of Japanator writes:

"The anime industry shovels out plenty of bad anime every year, and usually that would make this decision a difficult one. After taking the time to whittle down our list, we held a vote to see which anime would take home our not-so-prestigious award for worst anime of 2013, and it wasn't even close -- though Valvrave did manage to capture quite a few votes. It still makes me a little sad that I didn't get to nominate Kill la Kill, even if I knew it wouldn't win. Besides, is it really worse than Valvrave? Yeah, I didn't think so either, and that's saying a lot." (Anime)

While every person, website, magazine has a right to their own opinion, I feel quite odd to see some of those animes even being nominated for worst anime of the year... It should say the worst mainstream anime of the year, then I would actually be able to make some sense out of it.

As there were far worse anime inmo... far worse...

Blazblue wasn't that great, but WORST? Really? Really really?

Valvrave is bad..because? Seems like no one is giving reasons anymore other than "its so bad and it knows it". One of the few shows that was exciting, unpredictable..not to mention great sci-fi.

Regardless of what you think of Valvrave, it's really poor sci-fi, it's not even sci-fi, but fantasy in space.

Exploration of how a technological/social change change the world/culture or the exploration of human nature? Not really - That's soft sci-fi.
A rigorous look at potential technology? Not really - that's hard sci-fi.

It's a fantasy thriller, and it has upsides and downsides, but it's not sci-fi at all. Being futuristic has very little to do with actually being sci-fi. Maoyu is much more of a sci-fi story than this is, dealing with what is for all intents and purposes an alien visitor from an advanced society helping the natives.

Still blazblue is self explanatory . The anime is bad for fan of the games , because instead of using some nearly perfect and ready material , they went off to do their own thing . Wich would be fine if at least in the trade off people had a good story .

The action is underwhelming , wich is insulting given the origin of the franchise .

Most of all , even discounting the opinion of fans and "fanboys" and dismissing it as sterile whining from unmovable fans , as often done with comics book movie adaptations ... even then , for newbie to Blazblue , there was no appeal . You wont find many happy fans of the anime serie , be it among the gamers , or neophytes

I have to agree there, the BB anime doesn't really do anything for newcomers or fans.
