If I had to pick one theme for this show, especially in its second half, it'd be "What is it to be human?" Gurren Lagann's first arc was about victory, and then we've had a short period where we saw what anime rarely gives us, /life after victory/, living as humans, because in a fight, it's not /really/ about humanity, it's about clashing powers.

Kill la Kill is unlikely to ever give us "post-victory" content, but as is often the case, the true thematic core is "What it means to be human", including hating yourself.

I wonder if we'll ever truly get to see Satsuki as a human, hear her confess her ideology. That'd be an unexpected treat, at this point.
