No Game, No Life Episode 1 - Impressions and Notes

Another entry in my note-taking and thought-jotting series of posts on currently running shows. This write-up focuses on first impressions of the show, and the world, and how "marvelous" our protagonists are, while marveling at the shiny colours.

I came to this show expecting dumb fun. Vibrant colours, badass characters, you know the drill. Episode 1 had a lot to cover, so most "fights" were essentially "Hm, they're cheating. I will cheat as well! Well, I won." - That's... not what I was looking for. Show us a psychological standoff, /emphasize/ how extravagant the cheats are. Come on, make a /spectacle/ out of it. Otherwise we're left with a dumb show with no fun, though the pretty colours are definitely there.

In short, a trashy-fun show can't forget the... fun.
