I've been a bit apprehensive about Shonen Jump shows for awhile, especially ones from the weekly mag, and this one feels like it's going to be a show that could go on for awhile that may drain me. With a young lead that's set to take on the position as head of the clan, there's a lot of challenges he may have to face. We see that in Gyuki, who wants a world that fears yokai. And we see the challenges that Rikuo has to face with his inner yokai self as his blood may awaken fully at some point and truly unleash his other self that has a very different plan for his life. The opening episode is pretty well done overall with its execution and style, but something about it delving into another thirteen year old lead character has me feeling wary about it. I can't put my finger on it just yet but I can feel the predictability hammer is ready and waiting for use.
