Studio Ghibli’s “Tales from Earthsea” Finally Released in America

Nerd Reactor: Walt Disney Studios and Studio Ghibli have come together to help release “Tales from Earthssea” in America. The movie originally released in 2006 overseas, but was never brought to America. On August 13, 2010 there will be a limited release in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Seattle. Hopefully there will be enough of a buzz generated to get a full release. The movie is directed by Goro Miyazaki, whom is Hayao Miyazaki’s son. The movie was inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s “Shuna’s Journey” and based on the “Earthsea” series by Ursula K. Le Guin, while the screenplay was written by Goro Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa.
