Ishihara “Sorry” for Saying Quake Victims Deserved It

Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara has apologised for saying earthquake victims deserved to be killed and made homeless as punishment for the sinful greed of the Japanese people.

After his remarks were publicised, as he expressly told journalists to do, they were unsurprisingly the subject of widespread disgust and condemnation in Japan and beyond, he was forced into making a formal apology at a press conference

Wow, this is some serious backpedaling. This totally reminds me of the time that Jerry Falwell, and American preacher/televangelist blamed the 9/11 attacks on the ACLU, abortionists, feminists, gays, and the People For the American Way. A day or two afterward, he publicly "apologized," but of course the damage was already done.

Besides, in Ishihara's case (as well as Falwell's), I think that it's safe to say that the apology is basically a "oh crap, I screwed up," speech, and that his true feelings are in what he had said beforehand, not in the half-hearted apology.

they are innocent victims so why should they deserve to be killed???

Come on man. Were u so out of ur mind to say anything like that and made it publicized? R u human or what? And now apologizing... everyone saw true u.. so no going back now.
