Sometimes they are good but I'm not a fan of them when they completely ignore what has happened in the anime and delve into the past like with the leaf histories after pain was defeated.
fillers blow, ruins the anime. then again, shippuden's never been that good, they always manage to squeeze in the most pointless sh!t into the majority of their episodes. i.e. - last week's naruto running away from konohamaru, took an entire episode for naruto to get ramen and teleport to mt myoboku, ridiculous.
fillers suck, not matter how funny they are, they suck, they have no quality, pointless, and ruin the whole show, look at great anime, none of them have fillers, look at naruto,bleach, dbz >.< they have a 500000 eps, drag on and till that 0.001% of excitement is gone, 1 simple not-so-important event takes at least 3 episodes and it's sad because even non-filler episodes are boring as well :(
I got into Naruto again. It was all going good till sasuke ran away to Orochimaru and then it just became a bunch of random missions where Naruto is paired up with random people and they go to some distand villiage and some sort of lesson is learned by the end. I lasted up till around 190 and couldnt take it anymore. I just wanted to know what was going to happen between Naruto and Sasuke before the series ended. The filler was just so repetitve and boring after a while. I can deal with little tidbit of filler like in DBZ but this is just beyond overkill. Now I know why people cry about filler so much. Hopefully Shippuden will keep it varied at least. Cant wait to get started.
It's funny, i had no idea what filler meant. I started Naruto and like many i watched it all the way till Sasuke's last fight with Naruto and kept watching. But i noticed the story and quality was garbage. I then read why..."filler"
I STARTED READING THE MANGA AND IT ONLY 60 mangas ahead vs the show i think its going too be a period of fillers like the the sasuke naruto fight that followed....
When the "filler hell" occurred last time, the anime had caught right up to the manga. It was probably at max 20 chapters ahead, because I remember people discussing whether Gaara was alive or dead at the time (which is the end of the first arc after the time-skip). There's quite a lot of leeway left this time, so I expect about 10 episodes, maybe 20 max of filler.
I wonder what the Japanese (I assume the makers main priority) make of the Naruto fillers. The last lot after the Pain battle were the worst fillers I've ever seen for Naruto and I hope Naruto fans in Japan at least aired their frustrations at just how utterly awful they were.. so bad in fact that they made the original Naruto fillers looked good.. I'd take the curry of life over wearing cat ears to infiltrate a secret cat's lair anyday.
Kishimoto and co need to take a leaf out of Bleach's book. Their fillers are pretty damn good as fillers go and I'm really enjoying the current filler arc.
