If you haven't already checked it out, I'd recommend Cyber City Oedo 808. It's old school, the animation is good, and it's a darker, more mature anime. It was directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who also directed Vampire D: Bloodlust and Ninja Scroll, but unfortunately it's pretty short with only three episodes.

i either saw it or some part of it and thought it was not so interesting. i have it for long time but was not in the mood to watch it yet.

but if u mention it in that way i will give it another chance.
krazykombatant  +   127d ago
hmmm decent list i guess, I could use something else to start watching, if any of the people here have any suggestion, i'm open to everything expect Bleach, naruto and one piece.

Mainly because they're too damn long into the story now for me to even bother and I have lost interest in even bothering to keep track of those three.

I've already seen Death Note, Trygun (My ALL TIME favorite), Code Geoss. I think i might take up Cow Boy Bebop and Lupin III any more suggestions?
Megaman_nerd  +   127d ago
just give me a genre, a combination of genres or the kind of anime you feel like watching right now and I'll tell you one.

drama, action, mecha, tragedy, gore, comedy, netorare, moe, ecchi, hentai, slice of life, sci-fi, anything

I even know about anime with characters that are so sick on the head you wouldn't believe that such thing can exist. XD
krazykombatant  +   127d ago
lol i like to keep hentai on other things ;P

Ummm like stated I LOVE trygun, so anything like that is always good, something that has some good themes and topics, trygun: can two different things co-exist. I like gundamn as well i've seen Seed, i watched a bit of seed destiny but i couldn't bother to keep watching.

Gore is not a problem i guess, I have a friend that has shown me pretty sick ones, afro samurai would be one but i know there are some out there that are far worst.

Something short of about 25 episodes is always nice, but longer ones are cool too.

I've seen a bit of full metal alchemist but i never got around to it, seems like its worth it.

Trigun is pretty unique and old fashioned so there aren't many (if any) animes like it anymore. But with the theme of coexistence there's the mecha rip off (but still good) of Evangelion called "Rahxephon" and if you want something less dark and more old-west like then you can try "Gurren-Lagann" (post-apocalyptic setting, mecha, action). Another really good anime with that theme that is not mecha and has more of a sci-fi/mature twist is "Darker than Black". The story is a bit convoluted and hard to understand at first but after you pick up the pace it'll be hard not to love it.

If you want something more action oriented (but still mature) then there's Gantz. It has gore, good story and characters. The main theme is survival.

And if you feel like watching something out of the ordinary then I HIGHLY recommend Madoka and School Days. Both of these series will blow your mind because you just can't judge them based on how they look like.

Who would think there's sooo much evil hidden behind that moe art-style anyway? http://www.strawberrydeathk...

But School Days is a bit more normal looking with the high-school setting and stuff. Main story is about a love-triangle but by the end of the the series you'll see human behavior at its worst stage. This series is so sickening and rage-inducer that I can't do anything other thing than love it! [BTW this series is based on a dating sim and let me tell you that things there are even worse, way worse] 0-0

If you enjoyed Trigun then check out Trinity Blood. Despite the different settings, the amount of similarities would turn this comment into an article. I unfortunately watched them back to back unknowingly and constantly was comparing the two. Just go watch Trinity Blood if you crave more Trigun.

You definitely need to watch Cowboy Bebop. It's a classic and its one of the best anime to boot.

I personally would put the recommendation out there for Berserk if you haven't already seen that. As a forewarning, it is definitely a "mature" anime, featuring scenes with heavy gore, nudity, and all the like. If that kind of content isn't an issue for you, I'd have to say that it is probably my favorite anime series and you may end up loving it. It is a total of 25 episodes, and even features a quality english dubbing. The story is about a traveling swordsman who begrudgingly joins up with an infamous mercenary band when their leader bests him in one on one combat. The story follows his ability to grow as a person, as well as the exploits of the mercenary band. If you end up liking it, there are three movies lined up which are coming out soon, and the manga covers much farther then the series did.

Aside from that, I would definitely agree with your choice to check out Cowboy Bebop, as that's a classic most anime fans enjoy. There are a few other series I could recommend as well.

If you want something more in the comedy genre, some of my recommendations would be GoldenBoy, Desert Punk, FLCL (also known as Fooly Cooly), or Great Teacher Onizuka. If you want something with a bit more drama/action, there's Speed Grapher, Claymore, Iria: Zeiram the Animation, Samurai Champloo (same animation team and localization team as Cowboy Bebop), or Fullmetal Alchemist (I personally prefer the original series a bit more than the new one titled "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood", but that's just me).

Lastly, I have to always throw out the suggestion to see Akira at some point. And if you are going to see it with an english dubbing, make sure it is the 1988 Streamline dub, because for some insane reason Pioneer decided that they needed to re-dub the movie in for the DVD release back in 2000, and that is personally one of my most disliked dubs. You will know the difference because the original main character (Kanaeda) was voiced by Cam Clarke, the same guy who did Leonardo in the original Ninja Turtles cartoon series, and also who voices Liquid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series.

Anyway, I hope all this has helped some, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I love that show too, really one of the best if not the best.I have seen a lot of animes and Hajime ippo was just purely awesome in every way.I was always on the edge of my seat chearing him on and I never do that with any movie or anime, even when I go to see sports like football or Hockey.I don't normaly rewatch a lot of animes but Ippo is one of the ones I come back to and even seeing it the second or fith time I still get into like I did seeing it the first time.

GTO well GTO was just Bad ass and Hilarious LOL
