Hi everyone!

Sorry for this coming out so late into the month. Things have been a bit crazy around here of late. ^^;; (When are they ever not?)

I've yet to see any actual entries for the August contest submitted. I'm not certain if that's due to a lack of actual referrals, or because people weren't sure what they should do to confirm those referrals. Because of that, I'll give a graace period for entries there until the end of this month. If we don't get any entries and there's no winners, then we'll take those prizes and apply them to the Christmas contest.

September Contest:
Source Reviews

One thing that's been pointed out in the past here is that we often see a number of the same sources being repeated. To counter that, we've had several contests in the past to try and inccrease awareness levels of some of the more niche sites out there, which frequently post news that the larger sites. This time, we're hoping you might be able to help us out a bit there.

So for this contest, what we'd like to see you do is to make blog posts reviewing your favourite sources for anime, manga and japanese culture news. Reviews should be decent length, at least 500 words. The more detailed, the better. Ideally it should be a source you've used for a submission here before, but it could also be something you're intending to use in the future. You can submit as many individual reviews as you like, but you won't be able to win more than once.

Entries will be judged not just on how well written they are, but also on the level of detail and on the uniqueness of the site chosen (ie. I don't want to see 20 reviews of ANN, go further afield please!).

Not a bad idea. We've used that concept on vgn24.com to promote new sites. Larger sites do well enough on their own. It's always best to look towards "inclusion". Glad to see the change in attitude. Hope it slows the bleeding.

"Change in attitude"? There's absolutly no change of attitude here. This has always been our attitude. If you'll look in the blogs for previous contests, you'll see that we've made an effort on several occasions to try and encourage people to contribute with different sources.
