AnimeShinbun November 2015 Contests

Hi everyone,

I hope the last few weeks have been treating you all well. Or at least better than me at any rate. We've been having nasty electrical storms practically every day here for the past couple of weeks, so it's made it difficult for me to watch streaming anime. What's the point of a Crunchyroll sub when you can't even get to watch something until weeks after it's out anyway? ^^;;

Just another general reminder about fixing reported submissions. Typically, we don't tend to fix submissions for you. This is simply because we want those users with the most approval power to also be the ones who are actually making proper submissions themselves. If we fixed things up so that a sub-par submission was fine, that'd miss the point. However, that doesn't mean that the rest of you can't fix things up. If you notice a submission that's already been reported, and which has been sitting in the queue without having been fixed up by the person who submitted it, then you are permitted (and encouraged) to resubmit that same story to the pending queue with the errors corrected. As a rule of thumb, don't do that to anything less than a day old, just to give the submitter enough time to come back online and see things need fixing. Anything more than 36 hours old is fair game though.

And finally... I know I do this every month and that most of our long term members are long since sick of this, but if you haven't already read the blog post I made some time ago entitled "On submissions, approvals, and comments", you should really go do that. It includes important information regarding contest rules here on AnimeShinbun. These issues can and will impact on your eligibility to win prizes. You can find the blog post at the following URL.
And if you want to see what happens to people who ignore those guidelines on things like approving content from their own website, you can see this blog from last month.
I was going to post a new version of that blog post after Christmas, but after what happened last month I'll be moving that forwards. Expect it sometime in the next week or so.

Okay, I've rambled enough. Without further ado, the contests!

How many stories can you submit? Every news story you submit on AnimeShinbun during the month will get you 1 entry, and we'll be picking 3 winners at random from those entries. The more times you submit stories, the greater your chance to win!

Prize: 3 winners, receiving a $50 Amazon Gift Card each!

Pretty much self-explanatory this one. Each and every comment you make on AnimeShinbun (regardless of if that's in a news story or blog) during the month will net you an entry in this competition. And to make things interesting...we'll give you entries for every tip you contribute as well! So no excuses for not contributing those extra stories now when you hit your news submission limit. ;)

Prize: 1 winner, receiving a $50 Amazon Gift Card!

As usual with all of our contests, you'll be disqualified if you pick up a restriction of any kind during the contest period, or if it comes to our attention you've broken rules for posting and approving submissions that month (regardless of if that led to you being placed under a restriction or not). Comments with negative labels (Trolling, Off Topic, etc.), unresolved reported stories, etc, will not count to any competition.
In the interests of fairness, each entrant will only be eligible to win one prize per month. If your name comes up for multiple prizes, then we'll be awarding you the highest value one and redrawing the others. If the multiple prizes are of the same value, then you'll win the one for which there was the least competition and we'll redraw the others (i.e. In our regular monthly contests, typically the commentator lottery has less competition the contributor contest, so if you were drawn for both we'd redraw the contributor contest).

October Winners:
(These were a bit of a pain to go through this month, since a certain bunch of users got themselves those 30 day restrictions and made me need to reroll these a bunch of times...)
