Getting into HxH is kind of a gamble. It's really good, but Togashi does like his hiatuses. You could get a manga that takes 10 more years to wrap up or an anime with more fillers than the big three or an abrupt ending like the 1999 series.
Chances are you'll like it though despite the ultimate test of patience.
Never seen the show or watched the manga. I feel like I'm missing out.
