To tell you the truth, it was a huge pain to create this list since there are so many good anime openings out there. To solve the problem I did not put too much thought into the lower placements, since it is so hard to argue why one opening is better than the other.

2012 had some pretty awesome anime openings that I've seen in a long time. I thought that Mysterious Girlfriend X's opening did match it's visuals but I'm still glad it was given an honourable mention.
The only two that I felt were missing off the top of my head are Chuunibyou and Ano Natsu de Matteru.
