It’s not hard to believe that we’re hitting the 20th anniversary of the Detective Conan/Case Closed property and it looks like there’s going to be quite the special to help celebrate it. With plans for a winter special that will have a two-hour running time, commercials included, the first episode of the series is being newly animated and told to bring it into the modern side. The special will have some different staff than the TV series working on it with original creator Gosho Aoyama overseeing it. The project has Yasuichiro Yamamoto as the director and working on the script with Hiroshi Kashiwabara. Masatomo Sudo is back as the character designer for it and TMS/V1 Studio will be handling the animation. No exact date for it has been revealed yet.
