IGN: "Everything old is new again," goes the saying. What's a good way to adapt it in this case? "Everything five or six years old is new too"?
Fullmetal Alchemist sets a weird kind of record here, going from "make" to "remake" in the space of about half a decade. There's not much else in Japanese cartoon history that comes close. Even Gainax waited almost twice as long to cash in and bring out a remade Evangelion. Is the animation industry that short of ideas these days? Would it be too depressing to contemplate an honest answer to that question?
