Jujutsu Kaisen – Who is Itadori Yuji’s mother?
Not much is known about Yuji’s parents from the start of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga. We only meet his grandfather in the first episode of the anime. However, we learn a few things about Yuji’s mother in a flashback in Chapter 143. First, we know that Yuji’s father, Jin, was madly in love with his partner Kaori so much that he wanted to have a child with her.
However, Kaori, at that point, was possessed by Kenjaku. We can tell this by the stitching on her forehead. Kenjaku has a unique Cursed Technique allows him to transplant his brain into different bodies.
At one point, during his centuries of possessing and inhabiting different bodies, he possessed Kaori, Yuji’s mother. Through Kaori, Kenjaku gave birth to Yuji, so Yuji actually has two fathers, Jin and Kenjaku. It’s a little hard to wrap your mind around, but once you know how he did it, it makes sense. However, it is still unknown why he did this and what purpose Yuji’s existence serves.
