I forced myself to watch the first season after hearing so much praise and it was so boring, cliche and disappointing that I skipped "After Story". The first season was structured like the story of a dating sim and all the girls were in love with the main guy just because. On top of it he often came up as a real douchebag to the other girls when trying to protect Nagisa from some stupid crap that wasn't even that big of a deal.
The series went for 20 something episodes where nothing really happens. Just a bunch of mini-stories in the school that involved a ghost girl, school festivals and other cliches of the genre. It wasn't until the last 3 or so episodes that some stuff happens but it was too late. It was a really garbage first part to say the least.
OMG, it makes me so happy that someone knows this anime exist!
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (English: Rumbling Hearts) and Toradora! (which it isn't on the list) are the 2 best romantic anime I have ever seen and I really don't think that I'll live enough to see something better. These 2 are the closest thing to romantic anime perfection.
Toradora is the first anime ever that it was so good that I watched it 2 times in a row.
Most romance animes i hate because he always pick the broad i cant stand. Also, romance animes is probably the most depressing genre. I feel more sad not being with your love one then somebody dying.
I love Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE but i wouldnt call it romantic.
I agree with clannad and school rumble , two different romantic themes blur both very good. The only thing that bothered me with school rumble was the lack of resolution. The anime just ends , I guess I should start reading the manga, which is exactly like the anime. Clannad is still number one for me because it was the first anime that made me ''feel.''
