I enjoyed it not only because it’s a funny and enjoyable comedy with a cast of cute girls, but because the show is surprisingly robust and works on many levels. While it appears to be another show about cute girls doing cute things, the show drops subtle hints of existentialist and nihilist critique. Behind the thin veneer of moe and light humor, Yuru Yuri is a Kafkaesque depiction of the vain search of love in a sea of ennui."
