Review: Clannad (Visual Novel) [East Meets West Entertainment]

CLANNAD is a Visual Novel created by Key, who also produced the successful titles Kanon and Air. CLANNAD was originally a Visual Novel, but has now been adapted into two separate anime seasons and a variety of manga. This is the first time Key have made a Visual Novel that is intended for all ages on the first run through, unlike Kanon and Air which were Eroges to begin with and later became for all ages. The game was originally for the PC but it has since been ported to the Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and PSP. However, the game is only available in Japanese, so only people who know the native language can play it. Thankfully, the game does have an English patch thanks to the CLANNAD community, and this patch works with the PC version. The Visual Novel has had a spin-off sequel which is Tomoyo After: It’s a Wonderful Life, which is not suitable for all ages.
