Following a 6 year hiatus, the second generation of Genshiken proves that an anime centered on the lives of fujoshi and otaku can still be insightful and entertaining!
I loved the first season? Feels like this sbould be season 3 or 4. I think season 2 is a good start, sue and ogiue are my favorite. One thing that bothers me is a lack of male characters but season 2 is showing promise.
I tried the first season yesterday. I saw the first 5 episodes and it seemed pretty slow. I might go back and try it but i know one thing. This got to be the worst season for anime in a long time. It's all shoujo and moe. I think im watching like 2 animes so far.
Really? I thought the show was the exact opposite of moe and shoujo. Sure there is romance, but that's late into the "first" season and in the "second" season (isn't this season technically the third?) You should watch it. It's pretty funny and interesting watching the lives of super otaku.
"This got to be the worst season for anime in a long time. It's all shoujo and moe. I think im watching like 2 animes so far." I think he was making a comment on the season as a whole and not just Genshiken. By the sounds of your comment, you don't seem to be a fan of slice of life titles. For those of us who are more open to different genres, it's actually quite the contrary as there are plenty of interesting titles. To name a few, Genshiken, Monogatari, Uchouten Kazoku, Silver Spoon, Servant x Service and Gatchaman Crowds. In my view, that's certainly a much more diverse list than the previous few seasons filled with generic shounen, mecha, ecchi and rom-coms. But yeah, seconding that it's a ton of fun to watch the daily lives of otaku and fujoshi. For some of us, it's a bit like looking in a mirror, haha.
Yeah i not talking about Genshiken im talking about the whole anime season. I tried a lot of them and dropped them within 10 minutes. I dont mind slice of life the only time i really love slice of life if it has fantasy/supernatural in it. I didnt try Silver Spoon or Gatchaman Crowds yet. I dont mind romance animes either its just im sick to dead of moe.
