A Certain Scientific Accelerator Announcement Leaked?

James Mapley of Capsule Computers writes:

"After the huge surge in popularity surrounding the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series with the recent airing of Railgun season 2 it seems that another addition to the franchise is in the works. A Certain Scientific Accelerator looks to begin serialization in Dengeki Daioh starting in December as a new story within the Raildex universe. Little has been announced about the story, but it appears to follow the story of Accelerator presumably inbetween arcs, unless it is a spinoff of course."

Well ok!

I'll gladly watch it if it comes out.

Hm, at this point with all of these spin-offs they are making I'd rather have A Certain Magical Index season 3 than more focus on Accelerator. He already is going to start playing a bigger role in the future of the series anyways.

I don't understand how you guys can be exited for this. Accelerator has killed more than ten thousand people and he was laughing while doing it too. Something might be wrong with your moral values but I just can't see a sane person/body green lighting this. If they wan't to do more for the scientific universe, they should make another season of Railgun that doesn't include Touma. The reason being is that I personally didn't enjoy the index arcs for two reasons:
1) Poor Main character
2) Bad choice of bad guys.
To farther explain my reasons, I thought Touma was crappy main character because his character design just felt off the moment I saw him. I can't go into details on this one but something about it just feels wrong. The next problem is that his values are messed up. He is the only main character I've seen that will beat up a girl and then tell her why she was wrong afterwards. He could have avoided beating up every single one of the female opponents if he just negotiated with them from the start instead of leaving them with bloody noses and a mouth full of blood.
Now for the problem about bad choice of bad guys. I'm not a religious man myself but I don't think making the Roman Catholic Church the bad guy is cool. The writer of the series went out of his way to portray the church in such a negative light that it made parts of the series seem long and boring when he could have just made the bad guys be a faction of level zeros living outside the city that can wield magic.

Accelerator is a "good" guy (now). Sure he's a psychopath but he has that nice guy personality hidden underneath.

Touma is awesome because if you don't agree with his values, he'll just punch them into you. Then he'll add you into his harem, regardless of gender (although they're all currently female).

The Roman Catholic Church has made some pretty bad (and evil) choices in the past, in spite of the values of Christianity. That makes them a pretty interesting choice for the bad guy in any series (and in Hellsing, one can argue the Catholics as the bad guys).

If psychopaths as main characters are reason enough to stay away from certain anime, then Death Note was probably not your cup of tea.

I'm sure most mass murders has a good personality hidden underneath but that doesn't mean they should get a free pass and if you think Touma's behaviour towards women is awesome then something is wrong there. Also I'm aware that the Roman Catholic Church has made some bad decisions in the past but that doesn't mean it is ok portray a religious group as a bunch of extremist in these modern times. I still think my alternate idea could have made a much less complicated and more comfortable to viewers who might get offended by what was shown in the anime.

I did watch death note and I enjoyed it. I didn't see light as a murderer of the innocent like I do accelerator. Light was a Vigilante and most of society could sympathise with him(especially those who have been a victim in a crime or knows someone close to them that has been affected by it) wanting to purge the evil men from this world but accelerator on the other hand, killed more than ten thousand innocent girls as well as other victims he may have come across during his life.

Touma's actions are "awesome" because they border on the ludicrous. This is fiction, not reality.

You can make anyone the bad guy in any situation. It just so happens that the Church became the bad guy. If they were the good guy, would that create some warm fuzzy feeling? There's no point in keeping with morality and following the norm. Being different makes any anime more interesting. A faction of level zeroes out to kill science... kids? is not as interesting as the whole Roman Church out to do the same. The scale just differs hugely in connotation.

Some people like watching the villain do villainous things. Some people prefer the Decepticons to the Autobots.

The reason that Accelerator killed so many people (besides him being crazy) was that people constantly tried to fight him because they wanted to show the world that they could take down a level 5, which they couldn't.

Light was crazy and you know it. Sure, he was out to do good, but in an evil way.

I'm not even sure why I'm arguing anymore. I'm probably defensive of my own preferences.

Different strokes for different folks. If you don't like it, somebody else might so try to #dealwithityoloswagcallofdutym ountaindew

Hope this is real,

He was a bit of an ass at first, but after he got a good kicking and the plot continued, he seems to have changed quite a lot... without giving too much away :)
