Eccentric Family is definitely the most ambitious show we’ve gotten from PA Works since Angel Beats. And unlike the latter, it actually gets the little things right. The animation is nice, although the backgrounds look cheap a lot of the times due to the studio and all. It has a pretty funky soundtrack that’s cool to listen to. Unlike either Seiji Kishi or Jun Maeda, it actually knows how to do subtlety. And it does so many of the individual elements with a great amount of energy in order to make them interesting that you can tell there’s a bunch of talent behind this thing.
The key word there is that the elements themselves are pretty interesting. Unfortunately, when put into some kind of big picture, they lose all sense of purpose. (Mr. Flawfinder)
