Kill la Kill Episode 21 - Killing My Heart is My Punishment

Another entry in my note-taking and thought-jotting series of posts on currently running shows. Last week we explored the concept of self-hatred, of despising yourself, and this week had been the part where we explore that punishment taking place.

As always, the notes were taken while actually watching the episode, and rather than just repeating what you've already watched, elaborate upon it, assuming you've already watched the episode. (Anime, Kill La Kill)

This episode was mostly a spectacle one. I did like the quiet music, and the soft tones of when Mako entered Ryuuko's heart. That sequence reminded me /very strongly/ of Kill Bill.

The other main thematic point of this episode had been about Satsuki, about how far she'd go to win. She says she'd do it all, and she even lied and told Ryuuko she truly went all-out with Junketsu in the past, but she's lying about going all-out, isn't she? She's unwilling to cast aside her humanity.
