It’s the annual celebration of the end of the war, and yet not everyone is happy about the festivities. Toru, Akari, and Chaika are trying to resupply their magical fuel only to discover that most of the stores have sold out or are closed for the holiday. Those magic circles make for lovely fireworks after all. Chaika comments that she could just use her memories for fuel, which causes Toru to panic. I commented last week that memories as magic might have had unintended consequences, and Toru is worried that Chaika’s memory loss is the result of her magical self cannibalism.
