Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Episode 7 – Fan-Ficcing it Up

Another entry in my note-taking and thought-jotting series of posts on currently running shows. This write-up focused on the writing quality of the lines delivered in this show (hint, they're bad), and the moral journey and confrontations Shirou is engaging in (hint, it's worthwhile).

As always, the notes were taken while actually watching the episode, and rather than just repeating what you've already watched, elaborate upon it, assuming you've already watched the episode.

I actually liked this episode. Yes, the terribly written lines were a bit distracting, and yes, this show is chuuni as all hell, but I like that type of show.

The whole "utilitarianism versus idealism" bit is fine, though I dislike how much of it is driven by colossal lack of introspection by Shirou, which the show works hard to sell you is "right and noble".

Writing, story and dialogue aside it's pretty funny how FSN has more action than any other show this season, shonen ones included.

F/SN /is/ a shounen show. I'd say it has about the same amounts of action as shows such as Bahamut Genesis, but it just looks so much better that it focuses the attention a lot more.
