Fate/Stay Night: UBW Episode 11 – Gender Wars, Ideals & Funny Faces

Another entry in my note-taking and thought-jotting series of posts on currently running shows. This episode's write-up focused on the funny faces, as per usual, then delved into a more serious take at the most recent take on ideals, featuring Shirou with Rin and then Archer.

I wonder, are we supposed to laugh when they treat Rin as a one-dimensional tsundere caricature? It feels tired.

Archer's talk and him bouncing off of Shirou felt a bit empty, as if not everything added up.

I like the show fine, but I'm not sure what sort of show it wishes to be. I'm not sure it knows either. The light comic stuff is good because most things in the show sort of fall flat if you take it too seriously, but then the show /does/ take itself seriously at times...
