Manga News: Volume eight is still smack-dab in the middle of the Kanon arc. Kanon has Ayumu held hostage in the school after shooting him in the shoulder. Honestly, this volume does very little to advance the plot and could have been much more tightly written. It consists mostly of Kanon, Ayumu, and various other characters just talking.
Granted, it opens with a battle between Kanon and the other Blade Children, which goes badly for them, but even that has far too much talking. They tell each other what they’re going to do before they do it. I’d rather just see them do it. We don’t need to be told, and why would you explain to your enemy in the first place?
