gaara betrayed by the person who takes care of him. thats what i found very sad. in general, most animes have emotional and sad scenes, usually done really well
Nagisa's death from Clannad owns any other death. Its by far the saddest moment in Anime history for me. Seriously, if you watch Clanned from episode 1 to the episode when Nagisa dies, you'll start busting out in tears.
Her death is in After Story right? Because I watched the first part but no one dies there and since I didn't like it I never bothered with the second one.
Hughes death is sad in FMA but it's nothing compared to when you first discover what happened to Nina and the way she reacts to Ed and Al.
Yeah Nina's death was more sad. 2000-2012 animes dont have anything sad like animes before it. You will laugh but a sad moment for me even though its a kid animes was when Sai from Hikaru No Go disappeared.
When I watched the anime I thought Hughes death was the saddest, with his daughter getting me all teary eyed. When I read the manga on the other hand, Nina and Alexanders death was the saddest given the circumstances. I'm currently rereading the manga, and Nina's death still has a huge impact on me, Hughes' not so much.
Yumi's sacrifice and death in Rurouni Kenshin.
Jigoku Shōjo: Enmma Ai history behind her and her death so she can finally rest
Code Geass' ending. I cried, I really did.
nice list, every anime has it's sad moments and it really makes it even interesting to watch
