Unfortunately, Tanjiro does turn into a Demon in Chapter 201. This transformation will happen during the Sunrise Countdown Arc, during the final battle with Kibutsuji Muzan. As a last-ditch effort on Muzan’s part, he manages to turn Tanjiro into a Demon and transfers all his emotions unto him.
At this moment, Muzan disintegrates in the sunlight and dies. All that is left of him is his legacy which has now transferred to Tanjiro. When Muzan controls Tanjiro’s consciousness, he attacks the remaining Demon Slayers.
However, similar to Nezuko, Tanjiro is shown to have great mental strength. After Kanao injects Tanjiro with the Wisteria medicine Shinobu gives her, Tanjiro rejects Muzans Will and turns back into a human. So while Tanjiro does briefly turn into a Demon, with the help of his friends, he can make a comeback!
