Marshall D. Teach, known by his alias Blackbeard, has been the source of hate for many anime enthusiasts. This is due to a few reasons; as Blackbeard was a former member of the Whitebeard pirate crew, he killed a member to obtain a Devil Fruit. In addition to this, he is the sole cause of the Summit War, as he captured Portgas D. Ace. Due to these massive events, Blackbeard was able to get his hand on two Devil Fruits. As a result, Blackbeard has eaten the two Devil Fruits: Yami Yami no Mi (Logia Class, Dark Dark Fruit) and Gura Gura no Mi (Paramecia Class, Tremor Tremor Fruit).
Yami Yami no Mi
Each Devil Fruit Blackbeard has obtained, he has forcefully stolen. Blackbeard is incredibly knowledgeable about these Devil Fruits. Due to this, when a crewmate and his Fourth Division Commander, Thatch, found the Yami Yami no Mi, Blackbeard immediately sprung into action to claim the Fruit. Gura Gura no Mi
During the Summit War at Marinford, where Portgas D. Ace was to be executed, Blackbeard and his crew soon appeared during the final stage of the War. When Whitebeard was incredibly injured, Blackbeard and his crew delivered the fatal blow. After this, Blackbeard used an unknown method to steal the Gura Gura no Mi from Whitebeard’s dead body. Though many anime enthusiasts suspect he used the Yami Yami no Mi to do this.

In addition to claiming the two Devil Fruits, Blackbeard has attempted to steal Boa Hancock’s Mero Mero no Mi (Paramecia Class, Love Love Fruit) and Trafalgar D.
