In what appears to be a confirmation of the rumor earlier in the week, photographs have been taken at a bookstore of the previously mentioned promotional materials for the anime.
It's fairly unusual for anime to remake a story, but could they pick up where they left off, after so long? You'd need a natural way to reintroduce all the characters to a brand new audience some how. If they are picking up where they left off, I presume that they'll be re-releasing the original series at the very least.
