Music in Anime...

Now before I start I would like to say thank you for the great feedback last week, this week will be a shorter post but it will feature another question for you all!

I haven't always been a big fan of music, especially Japanese Music but in recent years it has become a huge part of my life, everywhere I go I am always tuning in. That brought me to think why Anime openings and closings were such a huge part of the show. I would always find myself skipping those few minutes in most anime because say your watching 4 episodes, if you skip all the openings you can fit in another episode.

The first time I really noticed the Openings of anime was when I watched Guilty Crown, which in the first half had the single by Supercell - My Dearest, which is quite frankly one of the best songs I have ever heard. That lead me to start looking out for more and more songs, my next favourite being the second opening of Sword Art Online.

Throughout all of this I started to realize how important the music actually was to the anime world. It always set the tone for the shows and throughout the anime you would even get some kick ass instrumentals. To name one would be all the music you hear in Bleach with the Espada, it just sounded elegant.

Now since this is a short post ill end it here today, I will link the Guilty Crown song and SAO below:

Finally this weeks question's, yes 2 of them!

I like listening to Yoko Kanno and Toshihiko Sahashi's work. Good stuff.

I found that the first song that really got me into listening to the anime openings and endings was Diver by NICO Touches the Walls, which was one of the Naruto openings.

There's a lot of crap to wade through when you are looking for good anime songs but I've amassed a small collection on my phone, over time, of anime themes which I loved.

To answer the first question, yes Ano Hana made me, but don't feel less a man for it.

My favourite anime song has to be What's up, people? (the second death note opening) though it is a hard choice to choose one.

These are some of my favourites:

What's up, people? (Death Note - opening)

Secret Base (Ano Hana - ending)

Tank (Cowboy Bebop - opening)

Ichiban no takaramono (Angel Beats song)

Paranoid Android (Ergo Proxy - ending)

OUTSIDER (On the Chuunibyou INSIDE IDENTITY single)

Favourite anime openings have got to be any of the openings of Bakuman. The endings are top notch as well.

I am yet to watch the anime, read the manga and absolutely loved it, awaiting the DVD's for reviewing from MangaUK :D
