Chainsaw Man – Who killed the Gun Devil?
Hayakawa Aki, a member of Tokyo Special Division 4 along with Power and Denji, is one of the people affected by it. Aki also states that he has chosen to become a Devil Hunter to kill the Gun Devil. With that said, you may believe Aki was the one who killed the Gun Devil in Chainsaw Man. But, unfortunately, this is far from the truth, and Aki faces a much more horrible death.
As many anime enthusiasts know, the Gun Devil consists of many gun fragments or bullets. This is how the Public Safety Devil Hunter organization has been trying to locate the Devil to kill it. During the Gun Devil arc, the United States President contracts with 20% of the Gun Devil. In addition, he offers a one-year-lifespan for every United States citizen in exchange for the death of Makima.
A fight breaks out, and Makima and Aki are killed. Makima then counters the Gun Devil with her ability. However, is unable to defeat it. To preserve its life, the Gun Devil then possesses the body of Aki, thus turning him into the Gun Fiend. However, the Gun Fiend, using Aki’s body, then gets into a fight with Denji to obtain Pochita. Finally, after Aki has killed multiple people and destroyed their homes, he is killed by Denji.
Though you may believe the Gun Devil is dead since Makima killed him and Denji killed Aki. They only killed the 20% that the United States President contracted. Therefore, 80% of the Gun Devil is still (partially) alive, albeit it is scattered in many countries and held by various Devils.
