Since we were first introduced to Yamato during the Wano Arc, many anime fans believed she would join the Straw Hat crew. One Piece – Will Yamato join the Straw Hat crew?
It’s not uncommon that someone will ask to join the Straw Hat crew after interacting with the main protagonist Luffy. However, the influence this time will be none other than Ace and Oden. So let’s first focus on Oden. Oden was the individual that inspired Yamato, so much so that she presumed his identity.
Soon after, Yamato finds Oden’s Journal and reads it religiously, learning about the islands he has been to and his adventures. This, coupled with the fact that Yamato is unable to leave Onigashima due to the explosive shackles, Yamato is more inclined to set out on an adventure.
After Yamato meets Ace after he tries to kill Kaido, she soon forms a bond with him, in which he gives her a piece of his Vivre Card. Ace, who had always been proud of his kid brother Luffy, told Yamato all about him and his dreams of becoming the next King of Pirates.
Once Yamato learns about Luffy, she admires him and explicitly asks him if she can join his crew. However, once the dust has settled after the battle with Kaido, Yamato, although itching to join the Straw Hat crew on their adventures, stays in Wano.
Although Kaido is no longer a threat to Wano country, plenty of work still needs to be done. So Yamato stayed in Wano to protect the country from further attacks. However, Luffy had told Yamato she could join the Straw Hat crew any time.
