At the start of the Demon Slayer anime and manga, Kamado Tanjiro can be seen with a scar on the left side of his forehead. However, as the story progressed, Tanjiro’s scar became more of a symbol. This will soon later be called the Demon Slayer Mark.
This Mark was first seen on Tsugikuni Yoriichi, the strongest Demon Slayer and progenitor of Breathing Styles. However, there is more to this Mark than what meets the eye, as a curse also follows it. Anyone who awakens the Demon Slayer Mark will die before age 25, as it reduces their lifespan.
To awaken the Mark, one must be in a life-threatening situation, have a heart rate of 200 beats per minute, and raise their body temperature. Due to the many times we see Tanjiro have a life-threatening conditions, he can awaken his Mark.
