Being the Chainsaw Fiend and having various Devils after your life is just another day in the life of Denji. After the fantastic first season of Chainsaw Man, anime enthusiasts were teased with a new character. This character asks herself if Denji is a “country mouse or a city mouse.”

For manga fans of the series, they already know what’s about to go down. The woman teased at the end of episode 12 is Reze. Who is Reze, you may ask? Reze has several aliases; she is known as Lady Reze, Bomb Girl, or the Bomb Devil in Chainsaw Man.

As you may have guessed, she is the Bomb Devil Hybrid. Her birthplace is the Soviet Union, and she was sent to Japan as a spy to retrieve the Chainsaw Man’s heart. Due to this, she decides to get close to Denji in Chapter 40 of Chainsaw Man. In the chapter, she appears to be a young woman charmed by Denji’s antics when they first meet.

This was all a ruse to get his Chainsaw Heart. Although getting close to Denji was a good idea, Reze didn’t expect actually to fall for Denji during their time together. Because of this, without revealing too many spoilers, Reze decides to visit Denji again at the Cafe they first met. This, however, could not go more wrong than it could have.

At one point, Reze also worked for Makima in Public Safety. However, this was during the time Makima brainwashed her. At some point, feelings between Denji and Reze blossomed but were quickly thawed by Makima.

As Reze was on her way to convince Denji to run away with her, Makima intercepted her. In addition, with the help of the Angel Devil, she was able to “kill” her before she could meet Denji at the Cafe. However, she, along with other presumed dead Hybrids, was shown fighting against Denji in the Control Devil arc. So, fans of Reze can rejoice that she is still alive in Chainsaw Man!
