Is Attack on Titan Good?

attack on titan good

Plenty of anime out there has great storylines; either they are filled to the brim with action or are wholesome. Attack on Titan is the former; of course, it does have its own version of wholesome moments. However, the main focus of anime and manga is to tell a Good story. And that’s exactly what it does and has continued to do in the last ten years. So, if you’ve been looking for a reason to start the anime, this guide can help. This guide will detail why the Attack on Titan anime is good.

Is the Attack on Titan anime Good?

If you’re new to anime, you might have wondered what makes the anime so good that everyone is raving about it. Well, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know.

The anime is all about revenge.

You can find many anime or manga based on the premise of revenge, but there’s nothing like Shingeki no Kyojin. At the very start of the anime, we’re met with a sort of happy-go-lucky Eren Jaeger with big dreams. Then everything changed when the Colossal Titan attacked. Of course, by this time, everyone lived in fear and hatred toward the Titans; but nothing takes the cake like this situation.

As you finish the first episode and meet our angsty tween Eren, you may think, “This kid is a bit too much.” However, it’s because of Eren being the overdramatic and driven person he is that makes the Attack on Titan anime so good. If it had gone any other direction, the fanbases wouldn’t have grown as much as they had. But, of course, this is only one reason why.

Fast-paced action scenes

Let’s not forget the memorable fighting scenes that will have you gripping your seats in anticipation. Of course, as you may have already guessed, the characters in the anime will be fighting off massive Titans. At least, this is what we were led to believe in Attack on Titan seasons 1 and 2 of the anime. Only to be bamboozled with politics and genocide.

While many believe adding politics can damage a show, in Attack on Titan, these only add more to why it’s so good. Even the characters in the anime were quite shocked to find out they would be fighting and killing other humans. Before this, they thought Titans we another species entirely, mainly due to the lack of knowledge and high mortality rate when observing them. Though at some points within the anime, you may feel it was going in another direction. Once you reach the Final Season, everything will make sense.

Attack on Titan unique storytelling

This leads us to another rabbit hole; each character is as unique as they come. This is especially true for the Ackermans, Mikasa, and Levi. Not only do they add more than what the story already gives us, but they also have refreshing personalities. (although they do clash at times) This also implies to the other supporting characters in Attack on Titan. While the characters do some typical anime antics, most of the anime is centered around the seriousness of their situation.

If that doesn’t tell you how good the anime is, then maybe the fact that Eren becomes the antagonist. That’s right; it’s not often that the show’s male protagonist goes insane. They do, but they usually catch themselves before anything too bad happens. This is not the case for Eren. Remember when we said he was driven? Well, he is undoubtedly driven to kill every single person that ever did the Eldians wrong. If you’re looking for a good anime that stays true to its original premise, Attack on Titan is the winner.
