Fanservice and Ecchi can often be confused with each other, and lines can sometimes be crossed. However, these are two completely different types of things. Ecchi is a subgenre, and a show can be based on nudity. Fanservice can be bikini scenes or panty shots made specifically for the viewer’s pleasure. In our guide, we have detailed five of the top anime with the best fanservice.
Fairy Tail
Fairy Tail is another longer-running anime; however, not to be confused with the Big Three, such as Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. Multiple seasons of the anime and OVAs can border the Ecchi side of anime. Although many fans that have tried the anime have lingering dislike because of the friendship power, the anime exude.
Fairy Tail firmly makes its way into our list of fanservice, considering the number of times Lucy (best girl), the main protagonist, has been caught off guard in her bathtub. It’s also due to the anime’s many scene bikini and transformation scenes.
Air Gear
Air Gear is one of the older anime that gets a spot on our list of best five fanservice anime. The anime has 25 episodes and premiered from April 5th, 2006, to September 27th, 2006. The anime is about being the best rollerblader using the futuristic Air Trecks. One of the few waifus you will meet is Simca, a beautiful pink-haired girl that will get in bed with our main protagonist Itsuki.
Fire Force
Fire Force is a household name at this point. From the creator of the classic anime Soul Eater, Fire Force is as unique as they come! So why is Fire Force in our list of top five anime? That would be Kotatsy Tamaki, of course. Though many anime enthusiasts believe some of these scenes can be tacky due to her Lucky Lewd Syndrome, a syndrome that leaves her in a state of undress around the male gaze.
Darling in the FranXX
Darling in the FranXX has made its way into our top five fanservice due to the slew of sexual innuendo that has gobbled up the show. While the anime does not outright show anything explicit, it ensures you know everything has a meaning. For example, to battle giant monsters, two pilots called a Pistil and a Stamen are needed to fight in the robots called a FRANXX. Everything in this anime has something to do with the male and female counterparts, and as such, it explores sexuality and the meaning of life (ahem, Kokoro and Mitsuru).
My Dress-Up Darling
And last on our list of the five top fanservice anime is My Dress-Up Darling. Previously, we compiled an article detailing the Top 20 Ecchi Anime You Should Watch As An Anime Fan. However, we have chosen not to include My Dress-Up Darling due to the wholesomeness of the anime. While there are plenty of scenes when Marin is in a state of undress or her bobas are jiggling, she is so caught up in the moment of cosplay she doesn’t even realize what she’s doing. However, she does become aware of her actions later in the series.
